Privacy Policy

AirconAlert is a free UK stock-alert service operated by 5 Rivers Labs (a sole trader based in the UK). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it. We keep it deliberately short because we collect very little.
Who we are
The data controller is the sole trader operating AirconAlert (5 Rivers Labs), registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). You can contact us about anything in this policy at [email protected].
What we collect
- Your email address — so we can send the stock alerts you ask for.
- The models you want alerts for, and optionally a postcode if you provide one — to tailor which alerts you receive.
- Basic, privacy-friendly analytics — we use a self-hosted analytics tool that records anonymous, aggregated page views. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites.
- Approximate location — we use your IP address to estimate your town so we can show a local weather forecast on the homepage. This happens only at the moment of your visit and is not stored.
We do not collect names, payment details, or any special-category data, and we do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Why we can use it (lawful basis)
We send alerts on the basis of your consent. You give that consent through double opt-in: after you sign up we email you a confirmation link, and we only send alerts once you click it. You can withdraw consent at any time (see below).
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We share your email only with the service that delivers our emails on our behalf (Resend, acting as our processor). Our website is delivered through Cloudflare. Both process data under their own data-protection terms. When you click a retailer link, that retailer's own privacy policy applies to your visit.
How long we keep it
We keep your email for as long as you're subscribed to alerts. When you unsubscribe, your record is deleted from our database.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase your data, and to withdraw consent. The simplest way to exercise all of these is the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email — clicking it removes you and erases your details immediately. You can also email [email protected] with any request. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Affiliate links
Some retailer links on AirconAlert are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you buy — at no extra cost to you. This never influences which products or retailers we show.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be notified by email where appropriate.
